GCSF & Boeing Partner to Build New School Building in Viet Nam

GCSF School Ribbon CuttingIn May GCSF and Boeing dedicated a new building to house 350-student primary and secondary schools of the Van Kieu and Paccoh ethnic minority tribes in the A Vao Commune, Dakrong District, which is located in Quang Tri Province, Viet Nam. The new facility will allow the students to attend classes in two shifts, rather than the former three shifts, resulting in a 50 percent increase in class time. Read more. Watch the Video.


‘Bridge Back’ to Viet Nam

Nuoc Ngot Orphanage Bikes Bill Dixon, of North Carolina, took part in a 12-day humanitarian mission to Viet Nam last fall. The group, led by Vietnam veteran Bob Matthews, formed a “bridge back” to the Southeast Asian country by donating more 40 bicycles, books and medical supplies for the Nouc Ngot Orphanage in Hue.

Upon returning home Bill and his wife, Jo, donated $100 in memory of their granddaughters to purchase two more bicycles for children at the orphanage.

Many of the people active with Global Community Service Foundation have experienced firsthand the extreme deprivation and hardships of the Southeast Asian people during travels to the region and are committed to improving the quality of life for the region’s population.
